Aircraft: During DISCOVER-AQ, the King Air flies at high altitudes, emulating the measurements we get from satellites, and the P3-B flies below it.
The P3-B flies spiral patterns over specific ground sites: areas where trying to understand air quality is most important.

The measurements from ground sites and tethered balloons allow us to understand the lower
level of the atmosphere closest to the ground.
